Day 1 |
Day 2 MÉXICO CITY Morning tour of the city, visiting the National Palace with its beautiful murals, painted by the great Mexican muralist Diego Rivera. Thereafter, the Constitution Square, the Central Plaza or “Zocalo” and the Metropolitan Cathedral as well as some of the main avenues. We will later visit the Chapultepec Park and one of the most important residential areas of México City, in addition to the “Zona Rosa.” Return to the hotel, the rest of the day at leisure. |

Day 3 MÉXICO CITY – GUANAJUATO In the morning we will travel to the colonial city of Guanajuato and, on the way, we will visit the historical town of San Juan del Rio, where we can admire a variety of precious stones, and metals such as gold, silver and alpaca. Thereafter, we are on our way to the city of Queretaro, famous for its impressive aqueduct and palaces. Then we continue to San Miguel de Allende, a gem of a colonial town due to its famous Neo-Gothic Cathedral, its fabulous stores and the typical cobblestone streets. Arrival to Guanajuato with overnight at the Quinta Las Acacias Hotel.

Day 4 GUANAJUATO – GUADALAJARA At the indicated time, we start our city tour, visiting the “Pipila,” a terrace with a panoramic view of the city, the Granaditas Corn Exchange, the Basilica of Our Lady of Guanajuato, the romantic “Callejón del Beso” (the kissing alley.) This followed by the amazing subterranean streets and the Museum-Pantheon of the Mummies of Guanajuato. Our trip continues towards the city of León, famous for shoe manufacturing and its variety of shoe stores. From there we set out for the San Juán de Los Lagos, a Catholic Sanctuary and then to on the pearl of the state of Jalisco: The city of Guadalajara. Overnight at the Quinta Real Hotel.

Day 5 GUADALAJARA We will start the day by touring some of the most important sights, such as the Government Palace, the Cathedral of Guadalajara, and the Degollado Theater. Then we visit the Tapatia Plaza and the popular market of San Juán de Dios, with its traditional arts and crafts. We conclude the city tour by visiting the typical district of Tlaquepaque, “birth place of the Mariachi” and with its Zapopan Basilica. Overnight at the Quinta Real Hotel.  |
Day 6 GUADALAJARA – PATZCUARO
Early morning departure crossing the area of the Tarascans and
heading towards the city of Patzcuaro, ancient capital of the
state of Michoacán. Here, we will visit a picturesque lake and
its traditional island of Janitzio. En route, we take in the
archeological city of Tzin Tzun Tzan and its lovely monastery.

Day 7 PATZCUARO – MORELIA - MÉXICO CITY We travel towards the city of Morelia, considered one of the masterworks of the Colonial Era. There will be ample opportunities to admire Morelia’s monumental Cathedral and the Government Palace. Moreover, we will be seeing the Martyrs’ Square and the typical candy market as well as a famous aqueduct and the Chapel of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The trip continues to the City of Toluca, along the modern “Paseo Tollocan” or Toluca Avenue. En route to México City, we will pass through the la Marquesa National Park. Overnight at the Casa Vieja Boutique Hotel.

Day 8 MÉXICO CITY, TRANSFER AND DEPARTURE We will start our tour to the south of the city, visiting on the way the World Trade Center, the Siqueiros Cultural Polyforum, the monumental México’s Bull Ring and the Insurgentes Theater with its mosaic mural featuring Cantinflas, painted by Diego Rivera. Next we will see the University of Ciudad de México and its famous library decorated all over with the mosaic murals of Juán O’Gorman, the Olympic stadium and the residential area of Pedregal de San Angel, built on lava fields. Finally we will arrive to the peaceful waters of the Xochimilco canals, the last traces of the Aztec era, where we will enjoy a relaxing trip on a traditional punt or pre-Hispanic boat. From there, the trip continues to the Coyoacan, an impressive colonial district, where we will walk down the Francisco Sosa street with its big, old, rambling houses of the 16th century. At the main square, one finds the mansion of the "Conquistador" Hernán Cortés and the Church of Saint John the Baptist with its beautiful paintings and altarpieces.
